Questions & Answers

My pond is cloudy, what do I do?

That could be caused by a number of factors. The fish may have spawned and/or the humid weather has been playing a role in the condition of our ponds. Here in the northeast we have had a lot of humid weather. Over feeding the fish and not enough plant life in the pond has been creating a lot of problems with the ponds.

1st: Cut back on feeding the fish.

2nd: Add more plant life to the pond.

3rd: Make sure your salt levels are up and add bacteria once a week instead of every two weeks. If you have not added any barley to your ponds yet now is a good time to do that.

How often do I feed my fish?

No more than they can eat in five minutes. Depending on the filtration in your pond you only want to feed them twice a day. Always from the same location so they will get to know you and know you are the food source. If your pond starts to create a lot of algae then you need to cut back on your feeding.
